Carlos' Sandblow is so called because that was the name of one of the lads on Captain Cook's ship when he was sailing around Australia. Yer man was on lookout and Rainbow Beach is what he saw and radioed down to the Captain that he saw land and he'd like it to be named after him. "I will yeah" said the Captain and he threw an empty bottle of rum at him, got out his telescope and lo and behold there was land! "Good man yerself Carlos!" said the Captain; and that's a true story.
